Top Pre-Workout Supplement 2013

top pre workout supplement 2013

For the past 5 years or so I have been trying many different pre workout supplements, hoping to find the one that most effective and safe. I’ve tried Jack3d, 1MR, White Flood, Cellucor C4, NO-Explode, Black Powder, and Superpump, but I found something that I didn’t like about each of them. About 2 years ago Beachbody came out with a new pre-workout supplement called E&E, and I have been taking it pretty much every day since! It is my top pre workout supplement 2013.

Why E&E Is the Best

So what was wrong with the other pre workout supplements? Let’s start with Jack3d. From the research I have done, Jack3d has been on the hot seat lately and in the news because of it possibly being linked to a few deaths. I used to use it in the past, and actually liked it because of the crazy amount of energy that I got from it during the workouts, but stopped because of the controversial ingredients that it contained. I’m pretty sure it’s even banned in Canada now because of one particular ingredient, and I’ve heard rumors the U.S. is trying to ban it as well. I also didn’t like it, though, because I experienced a terrible “crash” afterwards. I would feel pumped up during my workout, but come an hour after I finished, all I wanted to do is lay on the couch and not move for the rest of the day. On top of that, I couldn’t stop sweating post workout. However, in the end I stopped taking it because I didn’t want to risk it something happening to me. Oh and also, if I ever took Jack3d in the late afternoon, I would have the toughest time getting to sleep that night! I would have to take it in the morning. When it’s all said and done, I would NOT rank Jack3d up there with the top pre workout supplement 2013.

Another one of the pre workout supplements is 1MR. I used to love 1MR, but the “crash” that I experienced after my workout was FAR WORSE than the one I experienced with Jack3d, so I stopped taking that as well. It was so bad that I would be completely spaced out for the rest of the day after my workout, not just tired. I felt like I got hit by a truck! However, out of all the supplements that I tested, it was the one that gave me the most energy during my workouts. If it wasn’t for the crash, I would put it up there with the other top pre workout supplement 2013, but that severely hurts its rank for me.

With the other pre workout supplements that I mentioned above, I had very strange reactions to them. With Black Powder, C4, and White Flood, I had TERRIBLE acne breakouts, something that I never experience, and when I stopped taking them, the acne stopped. I tried to figure out the ingredients that they each had in common, but wasn’t able to do so. In all honesty, they weren’t that effective anyways. With Superpump I would get bad stomach cramps during my workout, and that was enough to make me stop using it. NO-Explode was actually my favorite supplement to take before my workout for a long time, but they changed the formula for it and tried to make it more like Jack3d. Just like with Jack3d, I got that dang tingly feeling all over my body shortly after I used it. After doing research on that one, I stopped using it as well.

Anyways, I was excited to find out a few years ago that Beachbody was coming out with a new pre workout supplement because I absolutely love the quality of all their supplements. Their best supplement, Shakeology, I’ve been using every day for the past 3 years. Anyways, with E&E, I take it about 20 minutes before my workout and usually start feeling the effects about 10 minutes in (I just took it about 10 minutes ago so I’m starting to feel the effects now). My energy increases, I don’t get nauseated, and I always experience a great pump during my workouts, and that lasts the entire time. After the workout, I NEVER have experienced a “crash” like I had with the other workouts, and that’s great because I can carry on with my day without feeling like I need to go to bed! I have even taken it late quite a few times and haven’t had any issues sleeping. E&E is definitely my top pre workout supplement 2013!

When it all comes down to it, I would name E&E as the best pre-workout supplement of this year. There’s a reason I’ve been taking it before my workouts for 2 years! As with any supplement, though, ALWAYS do your research to make sure it’s safe and is high quality. As I always say, when it comes to something you’re putting into your body, quality is not something you want to sacrifice! Shakeology Samples

Shakeology Samples freeIf you’re wondering about getting free Shakeology samples, you’ve come to the right place. Back in March of 2008 I made a decision to start P90X for the first time. To be honest, I had some knowledge about supplements, but not enough to really know what was beneficial and what wasn’t. Looking back, I made a lot of mistakes with supplements, but you live and learn, right? Anyways, I just trusted the P90X Nutrition Guide and got the supplements that were recommended, which were the P90X whey protein and the Recovery Formula, and I got outstanding results with them. About a year later I had heard that Beachbody was coming out with a new supplement, this time a meal replacement, and that is was going to be called Shakeology.

When it was released, I had no idea what exactly it was, and the price scared me off anyways so I never tried it. About 5 months later I remember heading over to my buddy’s house, a fellow Beachbody Coach, and he had me try a Shakeology sample for the first time. Quite frankly, it was UNBELIEVABLE! He was in a similar situation as I was at the time, struggling with money, but yet he was still using it every day. I asked him about it, and he started explaining to me that he replaces one meal a day with it and that’s how he justifies the cost. We then started talking about how it would fit in my budget, and after we were done, I was convinced that I could make it work. How? I used to go out to eat every day for lunch at the time, spending anywhere from $8-$12, and I just started replacing those meals with single packets of Shakeology, which cost me about $4 per serving, so I was actually SAVING money every day! It made sense to me and plus, I knew that I was putting something into my body that was extremely beneficial and healthy!

Within the first month of using it I ended up losing about 15 lbs, 15 lbs that I didn’t know I could lose, and the only thing I did different was by adding in Shakeology into my plan! I then got Melinda (my wife in the picture above) on it, and she ended up losing about 25 lbs in her first month! At that point, I knew it was something that worked, so I started recommending it to all of my friends, family, and the people that I coach. My dad ended up losing 35 lbs combining P90X and Shakeology, my mom about 15 lbs, my brother in law 35 lbs, and my sister something like 25 lbs as well. On top of that, there are hundreds and hundreds of the people that I coach who have used it and gotten OUTSTANDING results! It’s definitely now the #1 supplement that I recommend, and I’m constantly giving out Shakeology samples for people to try it. Oh and if you don’t know much about Shakeology, here’s my other Shakelogy site that explains why it’s so beneficial for you! Make sure you watch some of the videos.

How to Get Free Shakeology

So how do you get a free Shakeology sample? First of all, I have to be your coach! If I’m not your Beachbody Coach yet, it’s free to sign-up, and just click here. Also, you have to be serious about purchasing it if you like the taste. I don’t mind sending out samples because I really want to help people get the best results possible, but it does cost me about $6 anymore to send out one sample, so if you just looking to try it without any intent of purchasing, please be respectful and honest and don’t request one. I want to send samples to those who are really serious about changing their health!

Usually I will have a couple of flavors of Shakeology samples for you to try, but Chocolate is the one I send out most often. If you get a Chocolate Shakeology packet from me, here is a great recipe that I like to use. Just blend these together.

Chocolate Shakeology Recipe

  • 1 Packet of Chocolate Shakeology
  • 10 oz. unsweetened Almond Milk
  • 1 tablespoon of Ogranic Peanut Butter
  • 1 Banana
  • 1 – 2 cups of ice (depending on how thick you like it)

Shakeology is something I HIGHLY RECOMMEND, and something I’ve been using EVERY DAY for the past 3 years now! I’ve gotten great results from it, and so has my family, friends, and the people I coach as well. If you want a Shakeology sample, all you have to do is email me at Let me know if you want the Chocolate Shakeology or the Tropical Shakeology! Both are absolutely amazing, and I always send a great Shakeology recipe with all the Shakeology samples that I send out. Once you get the sample, make sure you let me know what you think!

P90X2 Body Beast Hybrid Workout

A few weeks ago I made the decision that I wanted to get into the best shape of my life before I head to Disney World in March. I’ve been in extremely good shape before, back when I finished my 2nd round of P90X, but with the introduction of Body Beast into my routine, I now feel that I can maintain the size I gained and get very lean at the same time. So after a while of thinking about it, I’ve come to the conclusion that I want to follow a Body Beast P90X2 hybrid workout. I’m not sure if it’s been done before, in fact, I don’t think it has, so I want to do it. Why a P90X2 Body Beast hybrid? I’ll share that below.

Hybrid Program

P90X2 Body Beast hybridP90X2 was by far my favorite program before Body Beast came out, and no, it’s not because I’m in the Shoulders & Arms video. It’s because it’s very advanced and sports focused, and that appeals to me since I’m a former college baseball player. Anything that’s challenging and involves improving athletic performance, sign me up! If you don’t know what P90X2 is, it’s the so-called sequel to P90X (makes sense, right?), and like I mentioned above, it’s very sports focused. Many of the moves target the core and force you to stay balanced. For example, instead doing normal Arnold presses, you stand on one foot and alternate. If it sounds challenging, it is! Also, a lot of the exercises involve the use of medicine and balance balls, again, to focus on core strength and balance. There is another move where you put your legs on a balance ball and do Diamond push-ups on a medicine ball. Talk about tough, this is one that tops the list! Putting the resistance workouts to the side for a minute, the cardio workouts absolutely ROCK! Plyocide has to be my favorite, and it’s similar to P90X Plyometrics, but on steroids with some added tougher moves.

What about Body Beast? Body Beast is the new mass gaining program that was released by Beachbody this past summer. I went through 90 days of it and ended up gaining about 15 lbs in mass! I got MASSIVE! It quickly became my new favorite program because it reminded me of working out in the gym during college. However, Body Beast taught me the importance of things like giant and progressive sets and proper supplementation when it comes to gaining mass, things that I didn’t have a ton of knowledge on before. When I went through Body Beast, I literally became the strongest I had ever been before, even stronger than I was in college!

So here I am now, starting a P90X2 Body Beast hybrid program. Why? Because I want to increase my athletic performance, stay lean and flexible, but maintain the size that I put on going through Body Beast. It’s going to be tough to do, but I know I’ll be able to do it. The diet that I’m going to follow is going to be a Body Beast P90X2 hybrid combination, but only take in around 2,000 calories per day. It’s low, but it’s going to be important that I stick to right around that amount if I want to lean out. The key to maintaining the mass is going to be supplement timing. So what supplements am I going to take? I’m going to stick with my normal pre-workout supplements, E&E and the Body Beast Suma pills, and also take Shakeology for recovery and Sun Warrior brown rice protein as a snack during the day. I’m not going to take the Base Shake or Fuel Shot because I’m looking to lean out, not gain weight and mass. When am I going to take the supplements? The E&E and Suma pills about 25 minutes before the workout, the Shakeology directly following the workout (with organic peanut butter and a banana added), and the brown rice protein as a snack in between lunch and dinner. As far as the rest of my diet goes, I’m going to do my best to stay away from dairy and bread products. This is going to be VERY TOUGH on me because I love whole wheat bread and pasta, but I am going to try to keep gluten out of my diet for now. I will replace it with fruits, oats, and brown rice products.

What about the actual P90X2 Body Beast hybrid schedule? I’m planning on doing 1 cardio from P90X2, probably Plyocide, a week until the last few weeks where I will add in another. For some reason my body responds the best to resistance workouts, and when I do too much cardio I start to lose muscle mass. With the resistance workouts, I’m going to be combining P90X2 and Body Beast moves for each workout. For example, yesterday when I did my chest routine, I did 3 sets of 3 Body Beast moves and 2 sets of 3 of P90X2 moves on a balance and medicine balls. Today when I do Shoulders & Arms, I plan on doing the same. So it’s not that I’m alternating P90X2 and Body Beast workouts every day, but rather combining them.

I will definitely keep you updated on my progress and will be getting professional pictures taken in about a month in a half, so I will be posting those as well. If you have any questions about what I’m doing, feel free to reach out to me at If you don’t have a Beachbody Coach yet and want me to coach you, just click here!
