Back in the beginning of 2008 I began my career as a Financial Adviser. I had graduated a few months before, and finally found a career in the field I was looking into. However, starting off as a young Financial Adviser is TOUGH, and the long hours took its toll on me emotionally and physically. I had gained about 20 lbs or so, and my self confidence was at an all time low. It got to the point where I knew I needed to change, so I began searching for something that would get me back into shape. One night while eating a bowl of ice cream (ironically enough), I came across the P90X infomercial, and I don’t know what it was, maybe that the program advertised itself as HARD, but I knew it was for me. That night I went online and bought P90X, not knowing that it would spark something that would change my life forever!
I remember waiting impatiently for the program to arrive, and once that deliver guy dropped the door off at the box, I tore it open and started reading the P90X Nutrition Guide. I knew that I had to change my diet if I was going to get results, so I wanted to make sure I understood the Nutrition Guide thoroughly and took my time going through it. Not too long after that I popped the first DVD, Chest & Back, in the DVD player and did my P90X workout. Ugh. That. Was. Tough. I thought I was going to puke 1/3 of the way through it, and could barely do 1 push-up or pull-up at the halfway point, but I still kept pushing through. Once the workout was over, I sprawled out on the floor thinking I was done, and then hear the music for Ab Ripper X come on. Seriously? Somehow I was able to find enough energy to complete the workout, but it was ridiculously hard. Day 1 down, 89 to go!
For the next few months I found myself getting into better and better shape. I had lost 10 lbs during my first week, another 5 during my second, and the weight just continued to fly off until I got to the 25 lbs loss mark by the end of the program. I had committed myself 100% to both the workouts and diet, not skipping a workout, eating a cheat meal, or drinking alcohol, and it paid off ten fold! My P90X results were INSANE! I was the leanest I have ever been in my life, but yet still very strong from the P90X resistance workouts. Was it hard staying committed? Heck yeah it was hard, but I knew that’s what I needed to do if I really wanted to change things. I never wanted to feel the way I did before I started P90X again, and there was nothing going to stop me from continuing to move forward.
